Travel Unit Information: Unit: Neuro Telemetry Beds: 32 Ratios: 1:4 EMR: Cerner (Workstations on Wheels) Common Patient Types: Tracheostomy care, CVA, TBI, spinal surgeries, encephalopathy, ESRD, brain tumors, psych-related cases Medications: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem (titrated) Average LOS: 4–5 days Support Staff: 4 aides (days), 3 aides (nights) Charge Nurse: Yes (light patient assignment) Additional Support: 24/7 RT, 24/7 Pharmacy, SWAT RN for IVs Responsibilities: Provide safe, evidence-based patient care in a fast-paced, high-turnover Level I Trauma setting. Accurately interpret EKG rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition. Administer and titrate IV drips per physician orders. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patients with neurological and medical complexities. Maintain infection control and patient safety standards. Float as needed to Cardiac Telemetry, Tele Overflow in ICU, or Med-Surg. Requirements: Experience:
Minimum 2 years RN experience; Level I Trauma experience required. Neuro experience preferred. Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required). Skills:
EKG interpretation, sterile technique, central line dressing changes, Foley catheter insertion. Must pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and SIMs Lab (Foley insertion & central line dressing change) on orientation. About Nationwide Therapy Group
