Job Title: Electrical Engineer II Job Duration: 6 Months on W2 Job Location: Lincolnshire, IL (POSSIBLE Temp to Hire) Shift: 8 am - 5 pm

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer Level II to join our Sustaining Engineering group. This role requires collaboration within a dynamic team environment and will focus on maintaining and enhancing existing printer product lines, ensuring they continue to meet the high standards and evolving needs of our customers.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES: Support Existing Products: -Investigate and resolve electrical issues in current production and products in the field. -Analyze root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Design Improvements: - Recommend and implement circuit and PCB design enhancements to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency. -Perform tolerance analysis of electrical components. Change Management: -Prepare and process Manufacturing and Engineering Change Orders (MCOs/ECOs). -Maintain and update product documentation including schematics, BOMs, and PCB layout files. Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer service teams to address technical issues. -Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement projects. Testing & Validation: -Develop and execute test protocols for electronic components, circuits, and systems. -Evaluate returned product failures, perform electrical analysis, and provide detailed reports with proposed solutions. Supplier Support: -Collaborate with suppliers to resolve electrical component quality or obsolescence issues. -Review and approve supplier drawing changes and deviations as needed. Compliance & Standards: -Ensure product compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal requirements. -Support documentation and testing for agency certifications (e.g., UL, CE). Project Participation: -Assist in sustaining projects from initiation through release. -Manage small-to-medium projects or portions of larger projects independently with moderate supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: -Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Experience: - entry-level/intermediate with ~2-5 years of experience. - 2+ years of experience in electrical/electronic design, manufacturing support, or sustaining engineering. - Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, PCBAs or embedded electronics. Design Tools: - Working knowledge with PCB CAD tools - Working knowledge of schematics design, circuit analysis, and electrical documentation standards. Engineering Change Process: - Experience creating and processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and design documentation. Problem Solving: - Ability to troubleshoot circuit and system-level electrical failures and implement CAPA. - Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or FMEA. Communication: - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement. Software tools: - Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., Windchill, Arena, Agile).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Industry Experience: - Experience supporting or designing printers, copiers, or other electromechanical office equipment. - Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing and PCBA assembly process. Testing & Validation: - Experience developing and executing mechanical test plans and validation protocols. - Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, signal generators). Cost and Quality Focus: - Background in component cost reduction, reliability improvement, or vendor quality improvement projects. - Experience working directly with suppliers to resolve part issues and approve alternate components. Regulatory Knowledge: -Familiarity with compliance standards such as RoHS, REACH, or UL certifications relevant to printers or electronic equipment.
