Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer Level II to join our Sustaining Engineering group. In this role, you will collaborate within a dynamic, cross-functional team to maintain and improve existing printer product lines. Your work will ensure continued product reliability, compliance, and performance as customer needs and market requirements evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Support Existing Products Investigate and resolve electrical issues in current production and fielded products. Analyze root causes and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Design Improvements Recommend and implement circuit and PCB design enhancements to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency. Perform tolerance analysis of electrical components and systems. Change Management Prepare and process Manufacturing and Engineering Change Orders (MCOs/ECOs). Maintain and update product documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and PCB layout files. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer service teams to resolve technical issues. Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Testing & Validation Develop and execute test protocols for electronic components, circuits, and systems. Evaluate returned product failures, perform detailed electrical analysis, and document solutions. Supplier Support Collaborate with suppliers to resolve electrical component quality or obsolescence issues. Review and approve supplier drawing changes and deviations as needed. Compliance & Standards Ensure product compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal guidelines. Support documentation and testing required for agency certifications (e.g., UL, CE). Project Participation Assist in sustaining engineering projects from initiation through release. Independently manage small-to-medium-sized projects or components of larger projects with moderate sup ervision.

Required Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

Experience Mini mum of 2 years in electrical/electronic design, manufacturing support, or sustaining engineering. Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, PCBAs, or embedded elect ronics.

Design Tools & Documentation Proficiency with PCB CAD tools and schematic design. Understanding of circuit analysis and electrical documentation standards. Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and product lifecycle documentation. Problem Solving Strong troubleshooting skills at both circuit and system levels. Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA). Communication & CollaborationStrong verbal and written communication skills. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams including mechanical, quality, and procurement. Software Proficiency Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Windchill, Arena, or Agil e.

Preferred Qualifications

Industry Experience Background in designing or supporting printers, copiers, or electromechanical office equipment. Experience with high-volume manufacturing and PCBA assembly processes. Testing & Validation Ability to develop and execute mechanical/electrical test plans. Proficiency with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and signal generators. Cost and Quality Focus Experience with component cost reduction, reliability improvement, or vendor quality projects. Direct engagement with suppliers to resolve part issues or qualify alternate component s.

Regulatory Knowledge F amiliarity with industry standards such as RoHS, REACH, and UL certifications related to electronics or printer prod ucts.
