Intermediate Care/Cardiac Stepdown Unit (31 beds) Contract Length:
13-week travel nursing assignment Start Date:
October 21, 2025 Shift:
12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Hours per Week:
36 guaranteed Schedule:
Every other weekend and holiday rotation Float:
May float to Oconomowoc Memorial and other units as needed Location:
Waukesha, WI - near Milwaukee (Wisconsin nursing jobs) Estimated Weekly Salary:
$2100-$2250 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Wisconsin or Compact State RN license (Registered Nurse) Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown experience in an acute care hospital 2+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience preferred Previous travel nurse or locum tenens experience preferred Recent Epic charting experience (within last 12 months) Associate Degree or Nursing Certificate required; BSN preferred Covid-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including post-open heart surgery, arrhythmias, chest pain, cardiac procedures, heart failure, and acute MI Interpret cardiac rhythms and provide routine cardiac care Care for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and medical overflow Manage a patient ratio of 4-5 per night shift Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes Float to other units/facilities within clinical skill scope as needed Participate in weekend and holiday rotations Demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and strong communication skills
