Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology nursing experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I or travel RN experience) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted) APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) certification required Chemotherapy Administration certification required CPHON/CPON certification preferred BLS certification required Ability to float to all pediatric units, including PICU, NNICU, and Emergency Department (ED) First-time travel nurses accepted One professional reference required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Pediatric Oncology RN Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients with leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell disease, ITP, epilepsy, and bone marrow transplant cases Administer chemotherapy and blood products, monitor for adverse reactions, and manage symptoms Perform central line care, blood draws, and port management Float as needed to sister units and other pediatric nursing floors Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services Utilize Epic EMR for charting and documentation Participate in ongoing education and complete required modules prior to start and annually
