Honeywell's ACST team is seeking an System Safety Engineer for our Plymouth, MN location that will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our systems and products. You will be part of the Mission Assurance organization, and will be responsible for verifying safety decisions and requirements are established to satisfy the hazard assessment and ensure program requirements are achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive risk assessments on hardware/software products to identify and evaluate potential hazards and assess their impact on safety. This includes analyzing the entire product lifecycle, from design and production to distribution and use.
Create and maintain product safety documentation, including program plans, requirements, hazard analysis (PHA, SHA, O&SHA) failure modes effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and safety assessment report (SAR)
Assist in review of engineering designs and operations, and based on safety analysis provide recommendations to the design team to mitigate or eliminate safety issues and hazards.
Participate in failure reporting analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS), root cause corrective action (RCCA) and other mission assurance activities as required
Collaborate closely with system engineers and integration/test engineers to develop technical studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts, including safety verification demonstrations.
The
annual base salary
for this position is $99,200 -$124,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years' experience in System Safety engineering
Experience performing system safety engineering analysis (e.g. safety architecture, hazard analysis, safety criticality, failure tree analysis, safety criticality failure analysis, etc.)

Safety Engineer Certification (CSP, SMP, ASP)
Familiarity with the full product life cycle with a strong emphasis on product safety
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience working with cryogenic systems, related technology and infrastructure
Product knowledge in mechanical components such as pumps, heat exchanges, extreme temperature piping, valves, actuators, and solenoids
Experience in facility/infrastructure design and construction. In particular, for labs, process plants, oil refineries, or similar industrial sectors.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven capacity to collaborate seamlessly across all employee and management tiers
Ability to contribute to and collaborate across scientific and engineering disciplines, while emphasizing teamwork
