Remove parcels from the conveyor and load them into the right trailer or onto the correct pallet-no two days are ever the same!

In this role, the Parcel Loader removes parcel boxes from the conveyor line and places them in the correct trailer or pallet according to the shipping label information and best practices. All while upholding OSHA and company safety standards. Majority of the parcels are UPS and FedEx cartons. The Parcel Loader hand loads parcel boxes but may use a pallet jack to maneuver pallets on the dock.

Essential Functions:

Accurately sorting carton based on shipping label details; customer, carrier, and service level

Ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage by loading parcels in a way to prevent shifting or damage while in transit

Providing feedback to supervision for orders that do not meet "Best Practice" standards (example: wrong size box used, box too heavy, etc.)

Perform system moves for cartons on the hospital line, after additional labels are applied but before moving them to the final disposition

Review KOZ software and print off labels for boxes that are obtained through the hospital line

Attach identifying tags or labels to material or marks information on cases, boxes, or other containers conforming to packaging specifications, rejecting unacceptable packaging

Perform dock and equipment inspection log sheet at the beginning of every shift. Report all concerns to the team lead and/or supervisor

While performing the duties of this job, the associate constantly works near moving mechanical conveyors

Follow the Saint-Gobain Golden Rules of safety and all OSHA standards, reporting concerns to the supervisor

Must wear all required PPE and follow company entanglement policy

Meet standards of productivity and accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction and timely shipment

Requirements

1 + Years of freight processing and/or logistics experience

High School diploma or GED is preferred

Able to work safely and productively with minimal supervision

Work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and pivot as necessary

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly

Must have good visual acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision

Ability to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities including, but not limited to reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, kneeling & crouching

Ability to tolerate exposure to modest amounts of heat, cold, dust, noise, and vibrations

Ability to lift 30 lbs consistently, up to 50 lbs occasionally

Continuous repetitive use of hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, reaching with hands and/or arms

Willingness to work in a non-temperature-controlled area, both hot and cold as trailers are at outside temperature when pulled in for loading

Ability to pass OSHA-approved Jungheinrich material handling equipment certification

Ability to safely operate the following powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment: Pallet Jack
