We are looking for a dependable
LTL Loader
to join our team! In this role, you will safely and efficiently load Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments using a Rider Counter-Balance (RC) forklift. If you have experience with forklifts and a passion for safety, we want to hear from you!
The LTL Loader will be responsible for loading orders onto trailers using a Rider Counter-Balance (RC) Forklift. They will stage and load freight according to destination, weight, and load plans all while inspecting trailers to be secured to the dock with dock plate in place and the trailer safe for entry prior to loading. They will accurately process and ship product meeting standards of safety, security, productivity and verification of order information. The LTL Loader will effectively communicate via email and telephone.
Essential Functions
Familiarity with JDA, voice picking and/or radio frequency equipment is preferred
Must display a high level of accuracy, initiative and dependability with a good attendance record
Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
Operates a Rider Counter-Balance (RC) Forklift Jungheinrich material handling equipment
Perform dock and equipment inspection log sheet at the beginning of every shift. Report all concerns to the team lead and/or supervisor
Follow the Saint-Gobain Golden Rules of safety and all OSHA standards, reporting concerns to the supervisor
Must wear all required PPE and follow company entanglement policy
Meet standards of productivity and accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction and timely shipment
LTL freight handling experience is a plus
Requirements
1 + Years of freight processing and/or logistics experience
High School diploma or GED is preferred
Able to work safely and productively with minimal supervision
Work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and pivot as necessary
Ability to read and effectively communicate in English, count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly
Ability to lift 30 lbs consistently, up to 50 lbs occasionally
Ability to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities including, but not limited to reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
Ability to tolerate exposure to modest amounts of heat, cold, dust, noise, and vibrations.
Willingness to work in a non-temperature-controlled area, both hot and cold as trailers are at outside temperature when pulled in for loading
Ability to pass OSHA approved Jungheinrich material handling equipment certification.
Ability to safely operate the following powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment: Rider Counter Balance (RC) Forklift
