Semiconductor Material Runner

Position Summary:
The Material Runner is responsible for ensuring timely delivery, staging, and management of materials, tools, and equipment within cleanroom, sub-fab, and support areas. Reporting to the Logistics / Material Control Supervisor, this role ensures production and construction crews have the correct supplies in the right place at the right time, while maintaining cleanroom and site-specific protocols.
Key Responsibilities: Transport materials, tools, and supplies from staging areas, stores or warehouses to cleanroom/sub-fab/workstations, following site routing and scheduling. Stage and organize materials in proper locations to support job foremen, operators, or craft crews-ensure easy access and minimize downtime. Maintain material inventory, perform material counts, verify deliveries, label and tag materials appropriately, track consumption. Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming materials for damage or defects; document discrepancies and report to procurement or logistics. Return unused / excess materials and tools to stores or staging areas; manage waste or scrap as per cleanroom and site policies. Support tool and equipment cleaning, gowning / de-gowning, and sterilization or cleanroom-compatible handling of materials. Use material tracking systems or digital tools to update material location, status, and delivery records. Adhere strictly to cleanroom protocols (PPE / gowning / contamination control), safety rules, and site regulations. Assist with housekeeping of material staging, storage areas and aisles, ensuring walkways are clear and materials are stored properly. Collaborate with foremen, QA/QC, production logistics, and vendors as needed to resolve material shortages or logistical issues. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or experience in cleanroom / semiconductor / manufacturing logistics is preferred. Experience in roles such as material handler, runner, or warehouse support in a production or cleanroom environment is an asset. Ability to lift and move materials (often moderately heavy), push carts/tuggers, and perform physically active tasks. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize deliveries under tight schedules. Attention to detail, particularly in verifying part numbers, cleanliness, condition of materials, and documentation. Familiarity with inventory control systems, material tracking software, or digital record-keeping. Excellent communication skills; able to coordinate with logistics, production, and craft/operations team. Commitment to safety and cleanliness: follow site health & safety protocols, cleanroom gowning, PPE usage. Working Conditions:
Work is performed in cleanrooms / sub-fab areas / production lines as well as warehouse / staging areas. Temperature, air cleanliness, gowning requirements may apply. Must wear required PPE (cleanroom suits, gloves, etc.), follow gowning/de-gowning procedures. Physically active role; may involve lifting, pushing carts, carrying tools or materials, walking frequent distances. Possible extended hours, shift work, or weekend obligations depending on project or production demands. Must adhere to site attendance, safety, and quality standards rigorously.
