Description

Job Title: Logistics and Material Control Reports to: Logistics and Material Control Manager

SUMMARY: The Logistics and Material Control position is responsible to perform the duties of Shipping and Receiving, Inventory control and warehouse organization as directed by the Logistics and Material Control Manager. REQUIRED Essential duties and responsibilities: Pull parts from warehouse using sales orders or pick sheets. Operate online workshops to enter shipping details and print shipping labels. Package orders, affix shipping labels and prepare for shipment. Prepare all shipping documents as required. Schedule outside services to construct crate(s) for our products as directed. Ensure orders are packaged securely and strapped to pallets for safe travel. Book all shipments. Schedule pickups from local vendors. Operate forklift to load and unload shipments. Receive purchase orders ensuring quantities match with packing slip or other documents. Verify the accuracy of deliveries by counting, weighing or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description and part numbers with information on the packing slip and purchase order. Identify product defects and notify supervisor when defects are identified. Record and documentation of any damage or discrepancies of items delivered or received. Issue NCRs to vendors and maintain/log vendor performance. Receive material into the ERP system and place them in their proper locations. Perform visual inspections of parts to insure the product meets quality standards. Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure concerns. Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas. Follow company safety & security guidelines Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Other duties as needed.

OTHER DUTIES: Use of hand tools such as drills and nail guns Support of Inventory Control by issuing materials and closing work orders Move products or equipment by use of forklift.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year ERP system experience General computer skills (Word/Excel) Two years of related experience required

ADDITIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED (to be provide, if necessary) Global Shop training: Inventory, scheduling, and shop floor experience. ISO training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand 50%, walk 30% and sit 20% of the time while performing the duties of this job. The employee is expected to lift or move materials 50% of the workday weighing 20-40 lbs., and to safely operate material handling equipment to move or lift heavy materials.
