Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Observation Unit position requiring Illinois license, Trauma Level 1, and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities Position is in an Observation Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting Patient population consists of observation status adult patients Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, working three 12-hour shifts per week Trauma Level 1 facility experience required Epic EMR is used and prior Epic experience is required Responsible for comprehensive RN care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and documentation Initiates and revises individualized plans of care and coordinates interdisciplinary care Delegates tasks to healthcare technicians and validates completion of delegated duties Expected to uphold patient safety protocols including fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety No local candidates permitted; must live more than 50 miles from facility Requests for time off must not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Assignment limited to a maximum of 1 year; a 6-month break required before returning after a year Scrub or dress code requirements are hospital standard
Requirements Active Illinois RN license is required; temp licenses are accepted Minimum of one year recent relevant RN experience, three years preferred Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required Epic charting experience must be clearly documented
