Job Summary

The primary objective is to develop and cultivate long-term philanthropic relationships with alumni, donors, and prospects. Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private gifts of $5,000 to $25,000 in support of advancing the University’s mission. Well-versed in all fundraising and campaign initiatives. Work with respective College Deans and faculty, development, and foundation staff, to meet funding priorities and maximize philanthropic support for the University.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business, Education, Communications, Health Related, the Arts, Engineering and Sciences, or related field; or Bachelor’s degree in stated fields or related, with experience and/or training that equates to a Master’s degree.

Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships that result in a philanthropic gift or close of a sale or contract.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skill.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strategic self-starter and results-driven with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Some knowledge of sales and/or development principles, techniques, and ethics.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective problem-solver.

Demonstrates flexibility and ability to manage change and withstand pressure.

Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Ability to travel and work nights and weekends required.

Valid driver’s license.

Some experience in fundraising or sales, including individual solicitation as a gift officer; or equivalent experience in comparable sales/marketing/client relations will be considered.
