Food Recovery Volunteers

Volunteer with Heart of Compassion and ensure that good food does not go to waste! Why: Volunteering in food recovery can contribute to millions of pounds of food being saved from a landfill. Food will be recovered, sorted through, and distributed to about 400 families in need. Who: Heart of Compassion's mission is to be a lighthouse of volunteers fighting poverty and restoring hope What to Expect: Safely bag and prepare food products, such as produce, canned or boxed goods, for our public distributions. Assemble cardboard boxes. Ensure organic waste and plastic waste are discarded properly and separately. What's Required: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and comfortable attire to handle a lot of movement. Minimum age requirement is 13 with a signed waiver and chaperone present.
