Job purpose
The Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general preventive maintenance in the warehouse and office, safety and warehouse compliance reporting, minor repairs and oversees ground keeping, may also be required to perform product handler and forklift operator duties; promote and implement the company's core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs general maintenance and inspection on equipment for warehouse such as forklifts, pallet jacks, handcarts, safety harnesses, etc. Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance, installation and repairs on a variety of building systems and appliances, including, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry, appliance repair and electrical. Apply proficient skills in two or more of the following trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, appliance repair, etc. to ensure quality maintained facilities and equipment. Subject to on-call coverage shift changes and emergency 12-hour shifts Participate in routine inspections (including QC, move in, preventative maintenance, machinery, etc.). Perform general maintenance and cleaning of common areas, office areas, maintenance shop, warehouse etc. Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools, equipment and machinery. Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment Understand and follow safe work practices for all trades, including but not limited to: Lockout Tag-out, Confined Space Entry, use of hazardous chemicals, use of Personal Protective Equipment, Ladder Safety, and working from Elevated Surfaces. Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart. A high school diploma or equivalent experience Advanced mechanical abilities and general facility maintenance Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS) 2-3 years of forklift experience, strongly preferred Physical Requirements
Sitting, Standing, Walking Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) Exposure to varied temperatures within warehouse environment Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs, at times.
