As aMajor Gift Officer I, yourprimary responsibility will be to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from current mid and major donors, identify prospects for major gifts, and develop them into major donors. This individual is responsible for developing relationships with a portfolio of donors who give between $1,000 and $10,000 each year. Emphasis is placed upon personal contact with donors through engagement points such as visits, tours, events, phone calls, emails, and personal correspondence. This position is regularly and customarily engaged away from the office for the purpose of promoting the cause of the Mission to the public. The job requires at least 80% of the time spent on high donor contact: cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Target starting Pay: $37.31 hourly

How you will Serve Manage a portfolio of 250-350 mid and major gift donors and prospects who can make multi-year commitments of four to five-figure gifts, including:

Through proactively reaching and caring for new and existing major donors, make 18 meaningful conversations as defined by Senior Director of Principal Giving weekly. Develop positive and professional relationships with lapsed donors to reactivate them at the major donor level. Proactively build relationships with potential principal level givers to be handed off in joint collaboration with leadership. Develop individual development strategies for each donor and prospect in the major portfolio. Develop positive and professional relationships with new and current mid and major donors. Conduct solicitation on behalf of the Mission through building relationships with donors, by phone and through meetings. Provide reports to donors regarding the Missions programs.

Meet annual revenue goals for your portfolio, as established by the Major Gifts Director.

Develop growth maximization and implementation strategies for current donors. Develop new prospecting tools and objectives for new donors. Implement unique and timely gift-ask opportunities that support and enhance donor partnerships and relationships with the Mission. Challenging donors with capacity impact focused asks versus incremental growth.

Keep complete and accurate records and produce reports on donor strategies and activities, including:

Early prospect outreach, identification of new prospects, growth in cumulative giving, dollars raised, donors secured, and handoffs conducted. Track donor activity in the database. Track and report fundraising metrics to Senior Director of Principal Giving.

Seek to increase the level of mid and major-level donor giving each year, ensuring proper stewardship and recognition of donors. Represent the Mission when called upon to speak to small groups, schools, or clubs. In addition, professionally articulate the Missions vision and values verbally and in writing to prospects and current donors. Increase personal knowledge of the fundraising profession. Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training, as required. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor. How you qualify

Acknowledge and sign the Mission's Statement of Faith(see below) BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience required. Development/Fundraising/ sales experience required. At least 2 years of major gift experience preferred. Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria, including but not limited to:

Clean driving record. Have a License for at least one year. No current suspensions or revocations. Clean driving record. At least 21 years of age.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks using stairways to climb to multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
