RE-POST Secretary to Custodial Department @ Custodial Department

To contribute to the effective operation of the Maintenance and Operations Services Department by assisting the office coordinator and support staff.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Have an Associate's Degree or have a minimum of 48 semester hours of higher education coursework preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Strong human relations - commitment to working as a team player Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, and word processing Strong organizational proficiency Knowledgeable of safety requirements for office operations Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette Working knowledge of office procedures and personnel practices Must have good mental computation skills and maintain a flexible attitude Available for emergency or overtime work Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Experience:
Experience in management of office procedures and personnel practices preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
Create, organize and maintain all employees' files (must maintain confidentiality). Generate all personal action requests for new hires. Maintain and process employee evaluation annual performance forms. Comply with established policies and procedures. Work cooperatively and congenially with other office personnel. Operate computer using word processing, data management, and applications as needed. Oversee Uniform and Trash service contract, reconciles monthly invoices. Process required paperwork pertaining to the status of Operations' (Housekeeping) employees Maintain Custodial Campus Assignment chart to assure departments stays within approved positions. Serve as an English/Spanish translator. Review time sheets and assist department payroll clerk in processing of payroll. Assist payroll clerk with Medical Leave or Family leave request. Must be Flexible and readily available on short notice for emergency or comp-time work. Process accident reports and worker's compensation reports. Follow safety guidelines related to office operations. Assist dispatch and process work orders, and messages as required. Process and close out all custodial work orders. Assist payroll clerk with entering warehouse order and work orders as needed. Maintain fixed assets inventory. Receive and record telephone messages and reports. Organize work area and office efficiently. Perform duties with minimum supervision. Maintain and process Service awards for Custodial department. Clerical Support
Receive visitors and vendors as needed. Expedite departmental incoming and outgoing mail. Provides clerical services for the Maintenance and Operations Services Department, Pest Control and Grounds Department. Other
Maintain confidentiality and a good attendance record. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, standing, walking, and twisting. May require climbing stairs and reaching over head.

Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $34,102 Mid. $40,805 Max. $47,503 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
