Information Technology Specialist

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic Information Technology Specialist to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. In this role, you will work under the supervision of senior technicians to perform general IT maintenance, troubleshoot and repair computer systems and peripheral equipment, and manage service actions through a ticketing system. You will install and configure PCs, servers, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), printers, scanners, telephony equipment, and audiovisual systems, including video teleconferencing operations, while ensuring proper connectivity and compliance with manufacturer and security specifications. The position also involves monitoring, securing, and patching network devices, supporting hardware and software accountability, and handling equipment setup, moves, and disposal in accordance with security regulations, which may require travel. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting access card issues, assisting in informal training, and performing other IT duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities

Support all aspects of PCs, hardware, wireless networking, and software, including installation, testing, configuration, and operations Maintain workstations, network access, and system documentation Perform Video Teleconference (VTC) system administration, scheduling, and configuration as needed Provide network and client support, including account creation, modification, and deletion Deliver multi-level Help Desk support, troubleshooting all hardware and software issues Perform hardware/software system upgrades, modifications, and configuration Configure and support desktops and laptops Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies Prepare systems for operational use and support operational testing Manage IT workflows and ticketing systems efficiently Required Skills & Experience

The Information Technology Specialist must have: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI), 9 months experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment, with work in this environment within the last five years, 3+ years of relevant DoD work experience, Experience working on an IT Help Desk, supporting IT issues and interacting with customers, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Education & Certifications

Required: Bachelor's degree: Arts (BA), Science (BS), Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education, CompTIA Network + or equivalent to meet DODM 8140.03 Tech Support Specialist Level 1. Preferred: Security + or equivalent to meet DODM 8140.03 or must obtain within 6 months of hire. Benefits

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
