Fire Protection Designer

will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. This includes leading the planning, design, and commissioning of: Building fire protection systems Building fire suppression systems Building fire alarm systems Additionally, this role involves coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting fire protection engineers, and following quality assurance and quality control plans. Abilities and attributes needed for this position: Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles Interfacing with project teams on design, delivery, and construction Managing project budgets and schedules Designing fire protection systems throughout the project lifecycle Utilizing BIM software for drawings Using calculation tools for design calculations Managing multiple assignments concurrently Time management and product quality responsibility Following QA/QC plans Commitment to continuing education and team needs Requirements 5-10 years of building fire protection design and construction experience Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles Proven experience with detailed plans and specifications Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience with Autodesk Revit Proficiency with MS Office Suite Preferred Skills NICET certification in Fire Protection Experience with AIA MasterSpec Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria Garver offers programs such as professional memberships, support for licenses and education, competitive salaries, benefits, and wellness programs, fostering a work-life balance.
