We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Architect to support a high-visibility DoD engagement at Fort Meade. This role focuses on designing and deploying secure AWS GovCloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), advising on cloud best practices, and supporting application migrations in a classified environment. This is a full-time hybrid role requiring on-site presence at Fort Meade approximately 50% of the time. The position is limited to 900 total hours over the life of the contract. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) Design and optimize AWS GovCloud architectures in compliance with DoD standards Lead cloud migration activities and automate post-migration tasks Apply AWS best practices for scalability, performance, and cost optimization Review architectural models and guide the customer on secure cloud design Assist with onboarding operational support partners in GovCloud Provide insights on RMF/ATO alignment and security posture improvement Minimum Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or higher) CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II cert) 5+ years of IT experience, including hands-on AWS infrastructure work 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) Familiarity with AWS GovCloud and working in secure government environments Understanding of RMF/ATO frameworks and DoD compliance practices Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and government stakeholders
