Description: The Patient Care Technician will assist in providing or assisting geriatric participants with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming with minimal support and supervision. The technician will schedule and coordinate tasks performed by other technicians in cooperation with other staff. Participation in participant orientation to the facility is also required. Input and information for service and care plans will be provided by the technician. The work environment focuses on long-term care and assisted living settings. The dress code is any color of scrubs. Charting will be conducted using specific electronic systems. The expected patient-to-staff ratio is 1 to 15-25. The technician is required to work every weekend. Experience with QuickMAR is preferred but not required. Travelers will not be required to float between different units. Weekly shifts may follow a block schedule. The daily census includes approximately 70 geriatric patients. The facility has 100 beds available. Assistance with various tasks is expected, including ambulation, feeding patients, and personal hygiene. Knowledge of vital signs and basic patient care practices is essential. Teamwork and communication with interdisciplinary staff are vital to providing optimal care. Additional skills related to specific healthcare responsibilities are beneficial for this role.
