The Nurse Practitioner can

change the treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition, and determine if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725).

Provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients,

provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care.

Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds,

provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals.

Document services rendered.

Salary Range: $89.06- $127.19/hourly

This is a limited appointment for 5 months. A limited appointment may convert to career.

Qualifications

BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN/DNP with a FNP Specialty - required.

Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-required

State of California NP, National Board Certification -required

Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care -required

Demonstrated work experience of over 2 years in management of outpatient medical problems- required

2 years NP experience- required

Bilingual Spanish/ English communication skills-preferred

Working knowledge of other health, mental health and social services agencies in the area-preferred

Ability to utilize Excel, word, and other software programs-required

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel-required

Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required

Ability to set priorities-required

Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed, and grammatically correct correspondence-required

Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
