Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School and Church is seeking an experienced and proactive
System Administrator
to oversee and manage our IT department, ensuring seamless technology operations for 400 students and 50 staff. This role is responsible for maintaining the school's IT infrastructure, managing networks and servers, supporting cybersecurity initiatives, and ensuring reliable access to technology for faculty, staff, and students. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with expertise in IT systems administration, network management, and user support in an academic environment. We are a full Apple/Mac environment and the successful person in this role will have extensive experience with MacOS environments. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Responsibilities include:
IT Infrastructure & Network Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and security of school-wide IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud-based services. User Support & Training: Lead the IT team in providing technical support for faculty, staff, and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring minimal downtime. Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Implement and maintain security protocols, monitor for threats, and ensure compliance with data protection policies. System Upgrades & Maintenance: Manage system updates, hardware upgrades, and software installations to ensure optimal performance. Device & Asset Management: Oversee inventory and lifecycle management of school-owned devices, including student and faculty laptops, tablets, and classroom technology. Collaboration with Administration: Work with school and church leadership to align IT strategies with educational and institutional goals, including the integration of technology in the classroom. Vendor & Budget Management: Manage IT budgets, procure hardware and software, and coordinate with external vendors and service providers. Policy & Documentation: Develop and enforce IT policies, create user guides and tutorials, and maintain accurate documentation of systems and processes. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; 5 or more years of experience in system administration or IT management (preferably in an educational setting). Certifications (Preferred) in CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar industry certifications. Experience overseeing a small IT team, providing guidance, and managing workflow efficiently. Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. Proficiency in Windows and MacOS environments, network administration, cloud-based services (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365), and cybersecurity best practices. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and provide training when necessary or requested by Administration. Subject line should read:
