We’re a trusted partner in large-scale oil, gas, water, and infrastructure projects across Southern California—and we’re growing! Position Information
Location: Hybrid (Company based in Long Beach, CA) Time Commitment: ~10 hours/week Compensation: Hourly / Contract (DOE) About Us: Phillips Steel Company, established in 1915, is a fourth-generation family-owned business specializing in metal processing, distribution, and fabrication. As a LA City Certified Fabrication Shop, we take pride in combining old-school reliability with modern capabilities. Now, we’re looking to bring that same mindset to our digital presence — and we need the right marketing partner to help us do it. Position Overview: We’re seeking a self-motivated, part-time marketing professional to take ownership of our online presence. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to add ~10 hours of flexible, remote work to their week. Key Responsibilities: Website Updates o Maintain and update our existing website (e.g., service offerings, news, photos, certifications) o Recommend basic improvements to user experience or visual layout (no heavy coding required) Social Media Management o Curate and schedule content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn o Highlight project work, behind-the-scenes shop stories, employee milestones, etc. o Maintain brand voice while bringing creative energy Content Creation & Curation o Write and edit posts, short articles, or email updates o Use photos from our shop or source relevant industry imagery o Coordinate with our internal team for content or updates You Might Be a Great Fit If You: • Are an independent worker with great communication skills • Have marketing or content creation experience (especially in industrial, construction, or B2B sectors) • Know your way around simple website editors (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar) • Understand how to translate hands-on work into compelling digital storytelling • Can commit to 10 hours per week consistently • Are based in SoCal (Bonus if you understand the local market) To Apply: Please send your resume and a few examples of relevant work (social posts, website updates, or anything that shows your style) to hr@phillipssteel.com with the subject line: Part-Time Marketing Role – Phillips Steel.
