Battelle is seeking a Semiconductor Materials Engineer. This position is located in Columbus, OH. Battelle's Cyber team in Columbus, OH is looking for a Semiconductor Materials Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team, bringing together the brightest minds in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and more. The team works to develop, evaluate, and test unique physical and embedded security solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will enjoy hands-on lab work developing outside of the box solutions with custom semiconductor failure analysis methods. Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Battelle Cyber Trust and Assurance team working on state-of-the-art integrated circuit security solutions ranging from design, verification, and testing of electronic devices, integrated circuits, and embedded systems. Support semiconductor device forensics through chemical processing and materials characterization. Responsible for the safe operation of laboratory equipment including acid, solvent, base, and other hazardous chemical systems. Identify and articulate the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, and problem approaches during technical discussions. Work with internal stakeholders to support the preparation of presentations and reports. May be called on to provide input, perform demonstrations, or present on assigned tasks during customer meetings. Prioritize and complete assignments with mentoring from senior staff. Key Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 2-9 years' equivalent work experience in one of the following fields: Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics Hands on experience in semiconductor device sample preparation (i.e.- sectioning, polishing, depackaging, delayering, plasma etching, wet chemical processing) Experience in the following semiconductor physical failure analysis techniques for materials characterization, electrical, and/or structural characterization: focused ion beam (FIB), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), light microscopy.
