LHH is seeking a seasoned Food and Safety Quality Assurance Manager to join our client's team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of Quality Systems and Food Safety fundamentals. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in food manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and team leadership, with the ability to drive a culture of food safety and continuous improvement. The anticipated salary for this role is between $100,000-$130,000 a year.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Quality Assurance programs and systems across multiple manufacturing areas, including meat, bakery, sauce, hummus, and falafel.

• Provide leadership to the QA team, including staffing, training, and scheduling.

• Chair the HACCP/Food Safety Team, ensuring all plans meet USDA, FDA, FSIS, and customer requirements.

• Oversee and verify HACCP programs and prerequisite programs (GMPs, SSOPs, Allergen Control, Sanitation, Foreign Material, Receiving/Shipping Inspection, Food Safety Training, etc.), updating as needed for equipment or process changes.

• Develop, implement, and maintain an environmental testing program aligned with USDA/FSIS and customer requirements.

• Track and communicate quality metrics and inspection results through KPI reporting to corporate QA, plant leadership, and key stakeholders.

• Maintain and enforce quality management SOPs, policies, and product evaluation systems to ensure products meet customer standards.

• Manage departmental budgets and resources while applying continuous improvement practices to reduce the "Cost of Quality."

• Lead the facility through local, state, federal, customer, and third-party audits, including preparation and maintenance of SQF programs.

• Conduct internal and external audits (including vendors and storage facilities) to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

• Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and track resolution.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, R&D, Customer Service, Engineering, and Maintenance to support quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

• Oversee USDA export processes to ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.

• Support production by developing SOPs that improve efficiency and optimize processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Public Health, or related technical field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (HACCP, GMP, SSOP, USDA, FDA, SQF).

• SQF Practitioner Certification preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Effective planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Pay Details:

$100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
