Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled

Data Center Technician

to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure and hardware. The role involves hands-on work with cabling, servers, and facility systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cabling, server hardware, and vendor coordination, with the ability to provide Tier I IT support in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform

racking and stacking

of servers and other hardware within the data center. Maintain accurate

inventory records

of all deployed equipment in Aperture or other DCIM tools. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot

cabling infrastructure

(fiber and copper). Manage and update

cable running lists

and equipment deployment records. Label all deployed equipment and cabling as per

DCM standards . Monitor and maintain inventory of copper, fiber, and power cords. Perform

hardware repairs/replacements

(hard drives, fan trays, DIMMs, processors, etc.). Work with

OEM vendors

(HP, Dell, Cisco, SuperMicro, and custom-built servers) for maintenance and troubleshooting. Supervise and support the maintenance of facilities, HVAC, and power systems. Monitor and optimize

data center power utilization

and cooling requirements. Ensure

security compliance

within the data center and raised floor environment. Contribute to improving

Methods and Procedures (MOPs)

for deployment and implementation. Provide

Tier I IT support

to internal teams. Travel as required for site support. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in

cabling installation

(fiber and Cat5/Cat6) and decommissioning. Strong knowledge of

server hardware troubleshooting

and replacement. Experience with

enterprise-class servers

(HP, Dell, Cisco, SuperMicro, custom-built). Familiarity with

data center infrastructure management tools

(e.g., Aperture). Ability to manage inventory, cabling documentation, and labeling standards. Basic knowledge of

power and HVAC requirements

in data centers. Strong vendor coordination and communication skills. Prior experience in providing

Tier I IT support . Ability to work independently with some supervision. Good to Have:

Certifications such as

CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Data Center-specific certifications . Experience with

structured cabling standards

and best practices. Exposure to

DCIM tools

beyond Aperture.
