A top financial client in Plano, TX is currently seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team. This overnight role supports critical infrastructure operations, ensuring network and server uptime in a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities:
Installing and maintaining network and server hardware (rack & stack, components, cabling) Performing hardware diagnostics, break/fix, and component replacements Supporting data center builds, refreshes, and deployment logistics Conducting structured cabling (Cat6, fiber) and terminations Monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalating incidents as needed Using DCIM tools to maintain asset and rack documentation Operating KVM, PDUs, and out-of-band management systems Ensuring compliance with all safety and data center operational standards
Qualifications:
3+ years of data center or IT infrastructure experience, 5+ years preferred High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or technical training preferred) Experience with routers, switches, and firewall Knowledge of LAN/WAN typologies and structured cabling Familiarity with AC/DC power systems and electrical standards Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits
Desired Skills:
Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field Cisco hardware experience or training Experience with DCIM tools (e.g., Nlyte), DSView, or similar platforms Familiarity with data center airflow and cooling concepts Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a high-availability environment
