Overview

Facilities Coordinator II:

Coordinates, inspects, and monitors building maintenance, operations, and service activities, including grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and security in a district or at an Austin area campus. Leads technical employees. Work requires contact with contractors and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. Facilities Coordinator III:

Coordinates, inspects, and monitors building maintenance, operations, and service activities, including grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and security in a district or division. Monitors preventive maintenance programs, facility use plans, emergency planning, and trades contracts for assigned facilities. Leads and coordinates all space management and capital improvement requirements for the district or division through the Support Services Division. Work requires contact with contractors and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. Essential Duties

Facilities Coordinator II: Assists in negotiation, development, and implementation of service contracts. Makes recommendations on violations noted during inspections and conducts follow-up inspections. Performs periodic inspections of buildings and grounds. Coordinates, inspects, and monitors building repairs, operations, and service activities (including housekeeping, security, and/or groundskeeping) at one or more sites. Coordinates, inspects, and/or monitors maintenance of interiors, roofing, flooring, and/or associated heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems of buildings, including picnic and safety rest area structures. Coordinates, schedules, inspects, and/or monitors work of employees, contractors, and/or contracted employees. Monitors buildings and systems; performs or coordinates repairs. Performs evaluation and may assist in developing and implementing the preventive maintenance program. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Facilities Coordinator III:

Includes all essential duties listed for Facilities Coordinator II, as well as: Negotiates, develops, and implements service contracts for facilities. Ensures Facilities Integrated Workplace Management Systems' information is current and accurate for all districts and divisions. Oversees the implementation of the preventive maintenance program for districts and divisions. Minimum Qualifications

Facilities Coordinator II: Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Experience : 8 years in building inspection, maintenance, and utility systems. (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year-by-year basis.

Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Licenses and Certifications : Valid drivers license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Facilities Coordinator III: Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Experience : 9 years in building inspection, maintenance, and utility systems. (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year-by-year basis.

Facilities Coordinator II: Considerable knowledge of Preventive maintenance methods and procedures Building security policies and procedures Methods and procedures used in building maintenance and repair Utility systems including heating, air conditioning, electrical wiring and plumbing Contract development and oversight Proficient skill in Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems Safely using, operating, and maintaining applicable equipment Facilities Coordinator III:

Includes all competencies listed for Facilities Coordinator II, as well as: Considerable knowledge of Applicable inspection methods, procedures and techniques Building support service operations and management Methods and materials used in housekeeping Proficient skill in Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Facilities Coordinator II and III: Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions Subject to extreme cold and heat; below 32 and/or above 100 degrees for more than one hour Subject to noise Subject to vibration Stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist Kneeling - bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s) Lifting - raising objects from lower to higher position/horizontally to a different position Fingering - picking, pinching, typing; working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand Close Visual Acuity - work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading Visual Acuity - operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment Conditions of Employment
