Job Summary
We are seeking a
Senior Field Service Engineer
with strong troubleshooting capabilities and hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing or wet processing equipment. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused professional capable of installing, maintaining, and repairing complex systems in the field. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, deep technical knowledge, and a willingness to travel frequently-including international assignments. This is a high-impact role supporting customers around the globe, ensuring uptime and performance of mission-critical semiconductor equipment.
Primary Purpose of the Role Troubleshoot and resolve complex field issues on advanced wet processing tools and other semiconductor equipment. Perform onsite installations, start-ups, retrofits, repairs, and preventive maintenance at customer facilities. Train customer personnel on system operation, maintenance, and safety protocols. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and plumbing diagrams. Perform hands-on wiring, soldering, and assembly of electrical and plumbing components to spec. Write and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley preferred). Document service activity, changes, and repairs clearly and accurately using ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop). Respond to service calls within 4 hours' notice and travel domestically and internationally up to 75-100% of the time. Collaborate with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to improve system reliability and customer satisfaction. Contribute positively to the team environment through knowledge sharing, support, and cooperation. Requirements Education:
Associate's or technical degree in engineering, electronics, or related field preferred; bachelor's in engineering a plus. Experience: 5+ years of field service experience, preferably in
semiconductor manufacturing
or
wet processing systems . Hands-on troubleshooting of complex mechanical/electrical systems. Technical Skills: Proficient with
electrical wiring, PLCs (ladder logic), system assembly , and
leak-tight plumbing . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings. Skilled with hand tools, test equipment, and power tools. Experience welding plastics (PVC-C, PVDF, Halar) a plus. Familiar with NEC, SEMI standards, and fluid dynamics. Soft Skills: Excellent communicator who can interface confidently with customers and internal teams. Calm under pressure, resourceful, and able to diagnose problems quickly. Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to travel extensively. Travel Expectations: Willing and able to travel
domestically and internationally up to 75-100%
