Duties You will administer and manage a major data management system that requires the integration of several other systems. You will perform configuration management, problem management, capacity management, and financial management for databases and data management systems. You will participate in the design of data mining and data warehousing systems to enhance data management. You will perform backup, restoration, reorganization, and recovery work on the databases and associated files. You will recommend performance enhancements such as increasing storage capacity or modifying interfaces.

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 421 Database Admin, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Generally, current Federal employees applying to GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
