Responsibilities You will administer and manage a major data management system that requires the integration of several other systems. You will perform configuration management, problem management, capacity management, and financial management for databases and data management systems. You will participate in the design of data mining and data warehousing systems to enhance data management. You will perform backup, restoration, reorganization, and recovery work on the databases and associated files. You will recommend performance enhancements such as increasing storage capacity or modifying interfaces. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrated experience managing, optimizing and integrating multiple database platforms AND additional experience in trouble shooting database performance utilizing monitoring tools and execution plan analysis. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Several vacancies may be filled.
