Job Summary
W e are seeking a highly motivated Automation & Controls Engineer to support industrial process automation projects. This role involves designing, programming, and commissioning control systems that ensure the safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of PLCs, HMI development, and electrical systems, and should be comfortable working in both office and process facility environments.
Job Description
PLC Programming: Develop and troubleshoot ladder logic code based on control narratives and P&IDs using platforms such as RSLogix or equivalent. HMI Development: Design intuitive Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens using tools like FactoryTalk View to facilitate operator interaction and system visibility. System Commissioning: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to commission new systems and troubleshoot automation-related issues during startup. Electrical Integration: Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams. Field Implementation: Perform and support hands-on wiring of 24VDC devices including transmitters, sensors, and actuators as per engineering specifications. Skills Required
2-5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, process controls, or electrical systems. Proficiency in PLC programming (preferably RSLogix or similar ladder logic platforms). Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control wiring. Comfortable working in field environments near industrial equipment. Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to self-manage tasks and respond to urgent needs, including off-hours support or travel when required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred skills
Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP and Modbus. Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, or process control settings. Proficiency in HMI development using FactoryTalk View. Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
