ABOUT THE POSITION
The Polymer Process Engineer is a critical member of our polymerization engineering team. He or she will oversee the daily operation and engineering support of 2 continuous polymerization units. These units produce approximately 40 million pounds of acrylic polymer annually. The polymer process engineer will be responsible for maintaining steady-state operation, identifying areas of improvement, and maintaining a reactive maintenance program. He or she will be responsible for coordinating and executing shutdowns of the units involving routine maintenance and engineering projects.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Process Monitoring Troubleshoot ongoing process problems Manage distributed control system, DCS, or similar controls system Participate as engineering team member to execute annual maintenance shut downs Coordinate efforts with outside suppliers and contractors Develop continual improvement of preventative maintenance routines B. Process Improvement
Develop procedural and equipment change plans for process improvements Work with management on the upkeep and improvement of laboratory procedures, safe work policies, and material handling policies C. Project Engineering
Identify process concerns, prioritize projects, and implement solutions Provide engineering support on assigned projects Provide necessary information to management for project approval D. Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned throughout all areas of the operation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering Two or more years' experience in a chemical engineering field preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to organize, prioritize, delegate, multitask, and work within established deadlines AVAILABLE BENEFITS:
