Overview
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Caterpillar Software Analyst. The Caterpillar Software Analyst is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the use of Caterpillar's VisionLink platform for equipment fleet management. The individual in this role will onboard customers, provide training, troubleshoot issues, manage subscriptions, and ensure accurate telematics data flow. The Caterpillar Analyst acts as the primary liaison between clients, Caterpillar services, and internal teams to enhance equipment productivity and reduce downtime through data-driven insights. Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to optimize use of VisionLink and related software tools to improve client outcomes. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, subscriptions, and telematics data quality. Qualifications and Requirements
Experience with VisionLink platform, Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and related software tools. Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology, business, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with VisionLink is preferred. Familiarity with telematics, fleet management systems, or Caterpillar software systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction and problem resolution. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to analyze telematics data, identify trends, and present actionable insights. Ability to manage multiple customers, subscriptions, and troubleshooting tasks effectively. Ability to function well in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight stays. Promotes a positive customer experience. The job requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. May lift, carry and maneuver items up to 10 pounds.
