Overview
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Caterpillar Software Analyst. The Caterpillar Software Analyst is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the use of Caterpillar's VisionLink platform for equipment fleet management. The individual in this role will onboard customers, provide training, troubleshoot issues, manage subscriptions, and ensure accurate telematics data flow. The Caterpillar Analyst acts as the primary liaison between clients, Caterpillar services, and internal teams to enhance equipment productivity and reduce downtime through data-driven insights. Responsibilities
Onboard customers to VisionLink, provide training, and troubleshoot issues; manage subscriptions and ensure accurate data flow from telematics. Serve as the primary liaison between clients, Caterpillar services, and internal teams to drive data-driven insights, improve equipment productivity, and reduce downtime. Qualifications
Experience with VisionLink platform, Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and related software tools. Associates or bachelors degree in information technology, business, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with VisionLink is preferred. Familiarity with telematics, fleet management systems, or Caterpillar software systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction and problem resolution. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to analyze telematics data, identify trends, and present actionable insights. Manage multiple customers, subscriptions, and troubleshooting tasks effectively. Ability to function well in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight stays. Promotes a positive customer experience.
