Senior Code Compliance Specialist

Responsible for code compliance of adopted City codes, ordinances, and abatement regulations, focusing primarily on specific assignments, projects, and/or problem resolution of considerable difficulty. Work is performed under minimal supervision with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position relies on experience to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures. High school diploma or GED. Four (4) or more years' experience in Code Compliance Administration or an equivalent. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Valid Florida Association of Code Enforcement (F.A.C.E.) certification for Fundamentals of Code Enforcement, Administrative Aspects of Code Enforcement, Legal Issues in Code Enforcement, and Officer Safety & Field Applications certifications required. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Or a combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
