Job Description
The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of the company to patients, whether visiting for routine health monitoring or essential diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, while ensuring compliance with established procedures and patient care standards.
This position requires flexibility to provide coverage across multiple locations and roles, including Patient Service Centers (PSCs), mobile phlebotomy, long-term care, and in-office phlebotomy environments. The Phlebotomist III - Float builds trust with patients through clear communication and skilled sample collection, all while maintaining a focus on process excellence and confidentiality.
This role may also involve onboarding new clients, mentoring and training new hires, and acting as the site lead. Exceptional phlebotomy and customer service skills are essential, especially when serving high-volume or complex healthcare practices.
Responsibilities Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients in a safe, accurate, and timely manner Prepare specimens for testing and transport according to protocol Deliver patient care with professionalism and build trust through excellent service Rotate across multiple sites and environments, adapting as needed Lead, coach, and support less experienced staff as needed Provide onboarding and training for new clients or employees Handle complex test orders and coordinate with Sales, IT, Billing, and Lab Services Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Medical assistant or paramedic training Preferred: Phlebotomy certification (Required in CA, NV, WA) Work Experience
5 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections) Preferred: 3 years in a PSC/IOP setting Preferred: Customer service experience in retail or service industries Experience with keyboarding/data entry Benefits
