HVAC Fabricator
The HVAC Fabricator is responsible for constructing, assembling, and performing HVAC fabrication tasks as directed by the Fabrication Shop Manager. This role requires exceptional skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with the standards set by Midwestern Mechanical. The shop fabricator will be making various sizes & types of Ductwork and Duct fittings from drawings and preparing them for installation in the field or shipping. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to Midwestern Mechanical's safety, conduct, and quality policies. Ensure fabrication tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to manage equipment use and material handling, ensuring optimal use of raw materials. Foster positive relationships with shop, office, and field staff. Assist with off-site field work as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others. Detail-oriented with excellent technical and layout skills. Capable of working independently with motivation and discipline. Effective forward-planning and time management skills. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and organization. Team-oriented with a sense of responsibility. Ability to train and mentor others as required. Excellent customer service skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Strong hand and arm strength with fine motor skills, capable of gripping and holding objects. Ability to use power tools, including those requiring overhead operation. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally. Comfort with climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in various body positions (kneeling, crouching, reaching, etc.). Able to perform repetitive motion tasks and work in noisy, dusty, and potentially hazardous environments. Ability to work with various pieces of equipment.
