Position Overview As a Buffer, you’ll be a key member of the finishing team, responsible for polishing and perfecting the vehicle’s final surface after painting. This role ensures the delivery of flawless, high-gloss finishes that meet Gabe’s standard of excellence. Responsibilities · Polishing & Correction: Buff and polish painted vehicle surfaces to remove imperfections, swirl marks, and achieve a consistent high-gloss finish. · Final Finish Quality Check: Inspect vehicles for clarity, texture, and surface uniformity prior to delivery. · Tool & Product Management: Use appropriate compounds, pads, and tools while keeping the buffing area clean and organized. · Collaboration: Work closely with painters, detailers, and production leads to ensure consistent quality and workflow. · Safety & Compliance: Follow shop safety protocols including PPE use and proper handling of chemical products. · Light Detailing: Assist with final vehicle presentation, including wiping surfaces and removing dust or residue. --- Requirements · Experience in Automotive Buffing: Prior experience in buffing, polishing, or post-paint correction preferred. · Detail-Oriented: Ability to identify and eliminate minor surface defects with precision. · Technically Proficient: Familiarity with rotary and dual-action buffers, pads, compounds, and paint finishes. · Team Player: Willing to coordinate with other technicians to ensure high-quality results. · Reliable & Responsible: Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards. · Physical Readiness: Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
