Member Service Representative , you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience for our members. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization, just 5 miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy, NJ. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the

Member Service Representative

will assist with all aspects of member enrollment, program participant registration, facility access control, and ensuring top-tier customer service. Maintain the accuracy of membership data, answer phone calls, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and caf areas. Support and promote the organizations mission by embodying the core values of Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect, and Faith, while demonstrating cause-driven leadership through the YMCA Leadership Competencies: Mission Advancement, Collaboration, Operational Effectiveness, and Personal Growth.

Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Must be bilingual in Spanish Must have a flexible schedule and be available: weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends Proficient computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn the membership CRM system Ability to deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, supporting member retention efforts Ability to process membership applications and take photos for membership cards, ensuring accuracy in spelling and preventing duplicates in the system Conduct interviews and tours tailored to the needs of prospective members; effectively promoting and selling memberships Proficient in accurately managing cash flow and maintaining the cash drawer at the workstation, with full responsibility for its contents Safeguard the safety and security of staff, members, and volunteers by diligently monitoring the scan station to ensure all individuals scan their ID upon entry; and properly addressing any "invalid memberships" Build strong relationships with members, and the YMCA community; facilitating connections among them Address and resolve membership concerns; promptly notifying the supervisor of any unusual situations or unresolved issues Adhere to the Ys dress code, including wearing a name tag, staff shirt, black or khaki pants, and comfortable shoes or sneakers (no open-toe shoes for safety reasons) Attend Monthly Staff Meetings on Saturday or Sunday evening
