This position serves the Department as a full-time Glaucoma ophthalmologist. A comprehensive list of duties and expectations will be outlined in an MSP Physician contract upon appointment. Qualifications

California medical license Board Certification Required MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) required Successful completion of an ophthalmology residency at the time of appointment Successful completion of a Glaucoma fellowship at the time of appointment No minimum work experience required Skills and abilities to perform patient care at an acceptable level as dictated by UC Davis Health policy and procedures Comprehensive understanding of medical and clinical sciences across a range of specialties Familiarity with current diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices Knowledge of public health principles and infection control protocols Awareness of ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in healthcare delivery Understanding of hospital/clinic policies, documentation systems, and electronic health records (EHR) Key Responsibilities

Specific Duties Will Include

Hold an agreed upon number of Glaucoma clinics per week Perform surgery as necessary within the appropriate scope of a Glaucoma ophthalmologist Perform incidental instruction as necessary to residents and fellows Perform administrative duties as required pertaining to the needs and expectations of a UC Davis Health physician Complete the requisite administrative duties as required by UC Davis Health in the context of a member of the active medical staff Position Information
