Job Summary: The UC Davis Health School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and innovative Labor and Delivery Hospitalist to join the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the division of University Women’s Health (UWH). UC Davis delivers approximately two thousand babies a year, has a level III NICU, and serves a high-risk obstetric population. UC Job Title SAC PHYSCN City Sacramento Summary The division of UWH has full-time and part-time Labor and Delivery Hospitalist opportunities, and offers a twelve-hour shift. Our Labor and Delivery Hospitalist will also hold an academic without salary position. This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing to the education and development of future healthcare professionals in an academic setting. As a Labor And Delivery Hospitalist, You Will Provide direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology. Be responsible for clinical duties that include occasional outpatient care; daytime laborist on labor and delivery; obstetric day call; obstetrical night call in-house; at home gynecology call in rotation; and inpatient nighttime hospitalist duties on labor and delivery, including urgent and emergent gynecologic surgery. Additional hospitalist responsibilities include OB triage, labor management, postpartum care, initial evaluation and admission of antepartum patients, ER coverage, emergency surgeries and inpatient consults. Provide teaching and supervision of residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room and the inpatient wards for any admitted patients as the attending physician. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure the highest standards of care. Participate in administrative meetings held to support departmental initiatives and operations while adhering to all relevant department and clinic policies. This position is primarily based at a UC Davis Health School of Medicine (UCDH) clinic, applicants must have the flexibility to provide coverage at other affiliated clinics as needed. - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Licenses & Certifications: Ability to obtain a federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license without restriction within 3 months of hire; Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Ability to obtain, and maintain, a Medical License in the State of California by the time of hire; Successful completion of an approved Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency training program by the time of hire. M.D. or D.O. degree. Preferred one year or greater recent clinical experience in general OB/GYN.
