Academic Clinical Chemistry Pathologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at UC Davis Health, Sacramento Campus. Salary range: $210,000 $331,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The UC Davis Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UC Davis School of Medicine invites applications for an academic Clinical Pathologist/Clinical Chemist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. Formal leadership opportunities may be available for qualified candidates. The department is led by Chair Dr. Florette Kimberly Hazard and is innovative and growing. Responsibilities Clinical duties primarily in clinical chemistry, including subspecialties such as special chemistry and toxicology. Other opportunities in immunology, protein electrophoresis, point-of-care testing, and other clinical pathology disciplines. Laboratory test development, laboratory administration, and quality assurance. Teaching duties including clinical, didactic, and small group teaching of house staff and medical students; interdisciplinary conferences; and curriculum development in subspecialty areas. Participation in the institutions research mission, either as a collaborator or as the intellectual leader of clinically oriented research projects relevant to the candidates areas of expertise and subspecialty training. General experience in other areas of clinical pathology may be considered but is not required.

Academic Expectations by Series

Clinical X series: engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Health Sciences Clinical Professor series: engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

Qualifications

California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California. MD, DO, PhD, or combined MD/PhD or DO/PhD; for MD or DO degrees, board-certification in Clinical Pathology is required. Ability to maintain a high level of service and to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment; excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with medical and technical staff, trainees, and others.
