Assistant Athletic Director For Compliance

Under administrative direction, the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for the day-to-day creating, maintaining, and monitoring of a compliant environment that results in clear institutional control of all athletic programs relative to Conference and NCAA legislation as required by NCAA Division I membership. The position is also responsible for assisting coaches and student-athletes for 18 programs and over 400 student-athletes in interfacing with University, Conference, and NCAA offices. Job responsibilities include: Collaborating with senior athletic department leadership to foster a culture of compliance with best practices Ensuring strict adherence to NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations Supporting 18 sport programs and 400 student-athletes in understanding and interpreting NCAA and conference rules and regulations Responsible for documentation of potential NCAA violations Providing regular compliance related educational information to coaches, athletics staff, student-athletes, key university personnel, and external constituents Managing issues related to prospective student-athletes' eligibility and amateur status Maintaining necessary student-athlete data in Compliance Assistant Maintaining student-athlete annual compliance related paperwork and tracking all student-related compliance issues Maintaining and updating institutional compliance manuals; ensuring processes are implemented Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner Performing other duties as assigned Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include: Knowledge of NCAA Division I bylaws and NCAA procedures Analytical skills Knowledge of NCAA Compliance Assistant Software; preferred knowledge of ARMS and Banner Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner Ability to supervise and manage others Excellent communication and decision-making skills required for working with diverse groups Strong written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrated appreciation for diversity and inclusion Minimum qualifications include: Masters degree required supplemented with five (5) years of related experience Function: Athletic Directors Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
