Work with stakeholders to develop the requirements for Generation Dispatch BOP and Controls functionality Work with Operational leadership to create best practices for GMS automation needs Work with the GMS team to review and identify system shortcomings and develop a solution design to be reviewed and implemented Manage, support, and build GMS operator displays based on stakeholder needs Manage the commissioning of new power generation assets and substations across multiple projects at a time Manage and support the interface of the GMS system to regional operating authorities, transmission system operators, and other entities for the passing of control information and operational telemetry Coordinate between SCADA Operations and other teams for the pre-integration of new and upcoming projects Coordinate weekly reviews of the current GMS system and support tickets with stakeholders to determine the priority of issues Manage and support the efforts of our GMS leads as needed to backfill team activities Support the monthly NERC CIP patching program for review, documentation, and implementation of security patches for the GMS systems and related applications Provide high levels of customer support to the 24x7 dispatch desk Provide off-hour support (rotational) for emergencies and major system events affecting the capability to run generation assets Good documentation and technical writing skills Working experience with basic OT systems such as remote desktop, VPN, windows server Some working experience with PLC and logic control of utility systems Some working experience with protection, metering, and substation equipment Must be open to collaboration and working in a team environment Passionate and motivated to work in the renewables industry Qualifications
Preferred, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics Advanced degrees can reduce technical experience requirements (Masters = 2 years credit, Doctorate = 3 years credit). Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) or ability to obtain license/charter within one year. May be passed if work experience is 15+ years within a monarch generation management role 12+ years of professional experience programming OSII Monarch system for generation management 12+ years of professional experience applicable to electric power generation, generation management, and automatic generation control. Experience with OPC data transfer from site to GMS. Experience with ICCP data transfer, SFTP data transfer, and XML data transfer. Experience with SCADA HMIs Experience with SQL databases and reporting systems Experience with regulation and compliance requirements and processes Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.) Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the workday Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures Ability to work within tight deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams Strong leadership and communication, and the ability to meet deadlines Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts Benefits
