Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Trainer with a background in the food industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong instructional design background and extensive experience with the Alchemy Learning Management System. This role requires a passion for training and development, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to create and execute effective training programs tailored to the needs of our organization. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for employees within the food industry, covering topics such as food safety, hygiene, quality control, operational production and maintenance. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop learning objectives that align with organizational goals. Learn positions that will be trained on and write technical documents (SOPs/WI) that explain how to conduct tasks needed for positions and update as needed. Participate in manufacturing activities to understand process from firsthand perspective (includes line cleans/tear downs, maintenance or quality activities, general line operations, troubleshooting processes etc.) Do hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts (SME) Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences Identify and own gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety Maintain SOP and policy document libraries and annual review process to ensure processes are up to date Conduct audits on existing SOPs and optimize based on best practices. May be required to audit SOPs across all shifts to ensure all are followed consistently Create OPLs for changes that need to be cascaded Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, and job aids. Manage the administration of the Alchemy Learning Management System, including user management, content uploads, reporting, and troubleshooting technical issues. Conduct training sessions for employees at all levels, both in-person and virtually, ensuring that training delivery is effective and engaging. Assess and coach production team members on the production floor Ensure training matrix for skills is up to date and training program is being managed effectively. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, KPIs, and feedback mechanisms, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Provide recommendations for updates Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to training and development in the food industry. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design, Food Science, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in training and development, preferably within the food industry. Hands-on experience implementing and training operational processes Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and seek solutions Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office products effectively and efficiently (formatting, copying and pasting) Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories. Experience with the Alchemy Learning Management System or similar learning management systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) are a plus.
