What’s the job?
Come start a career with us at CertainTeed as a Take Off Driver. In this position, employees will be responsible for the operation of forklifts to transport and stack materials in a safe and productive manner.
Shift:
12 hour rotating shifts (3 days one week, 4 days the next)
Pay:
21.00 an hour
Primary Functions:
General housecleaning of the work area
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution Take Off operations
Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas
Proper transport and stacking of board in a safe and productive manner
Ensuring risers are removed from all bays when empty
Operation of propane powered forklifts to load, unload, transport and stack materials
Completion of pre -shift / walk around inspections of forklifts
Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, fueling or replacing propane tanks
Proper placement of risers on board units in the warehouse
Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by Distribution Team Leader
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
What do you bring?
High school or equivalent (Required)
Forklift experience (Preferred)
Ability to work 12-hour shifts
Ability to work in office or warehouse setting, including various climate environments
Ability to work in Production floor elements, including dust, noise & odors
Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance
Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
