We are seeking a Sterile Processing Tech Lead for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. As a Sterile Processing Lead Technician, you will be responsible for providing asset management and support of surgical instruments and trays belonging to or consigned to the facility, in accordance with The Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards. What you should expect to do in this role: Properly handles, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes and returns for use all instrumentation in accordance with the above organizational standards. Supports daily operations of any activities that pertain to the processing of reusable instrumentation. Assists to develop and establish work flow, process improvements, daily work assignments, log documentation and management. Initial counseling with direct reports (Tech I and Tech II staff) Develops and implements educational offerings to SPD staff, direct supervision of Tech I and Tech II staff Accurate and timely reporting of shift details to incoming shift staff and oncoming Lead Technician. Delegate responsibility, assign lunch and break schedule, monitor and responsible for daily logs Demonstrates consistent success in working, communicating with, and mentoring diverse staff. Works with other departments, including Supply Chain, in order to provide all necessary items to perioperative services Reporting of broken instrumentation, and vital communication with team leadership and/or manager. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of instrumentation in multiple specialty areas. Participates in educational offerings and in-services in order to remain knowledgeable in the department and to remain in compliance with certification needs. Communicates in a professional manner to all staff and facility employees. Meet or exceed metric requirements including but not limited to: productivity goals, tray audits, zero dirty instruments, vendor policies and adequate rotation and knowledge of all areas of the SPD. What qualifications you will need for this role: Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician vis CBSPD or IAHCSMM Advanced certification (Advanced Instrument Tech, CST or Endoscopy Technician) required within 1 year of hire Associate degree Two years' experience in sterile processing experience, or similar clinical experience required, supervisory experience Medical terminology and familiarity with surgical instrumentation Good organizational and leadership skills, attention to details and ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment.
