Essential Job Duties The primary purpose of this position is to perform phlebotomy services and provide front desk support in the laboratory. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, drawing, collecting, and processing specimens in accordance with established policies and procedures, and accurately documenting information in the laboratory information systems (Medicat and Orchard). This role requires strong customer service skills, particularly in working with students who may be unfamiliar with the process of having blood drawn, including international students. Effective communication, professionalism, and adherence to safety and quality standards are essential to ensuring a positive patient experience and reliable laboratory results.

Minimum Experience/Education Current certification through American Medical Technologists (AMT) as Registered Medical Assistant or Current Certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) as a Certified Medical Assistant. Current BLS Provider CPR certificate Department Required Skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including proficiency with hand draws and difficult draws Ability to learn and effectively use laboratory information systems (Medicat and Orchard) Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and support colleagues Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
