Our client is an
established OSAT (outsourced assemble & test) Manufacturing facility
in the Phoenix AZ vicinity, and is seeking an experienced
Environmental Health & Safety Manager
to join the team and lead in building the foundation and EHS systems for the new 2M+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility site. The
Environmental Health & Safety Manager
is responsible for the overall EHS programs related to the construction, operation, and permitting of environmental facilities within the workplace. The manager partners with site leadership to develop a culture that identifies health and safety opportunities, documents them for trends and predictive analysis, and aligns with environmental, health, and safety management systems. Primary focus points include accident prevention, EHS regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, scrap reduction, environmental management systems, and EPA certification systems. Ensure all equipment operations, repairs, modifications, and maintenance meet manufacturer requirements and align with environmental protection standards. Manage projects with third-party vendors for equipment selection, implementation, preventive system design, manufacturing equipment, production escalation processes, and facility environmental design. Serve as the primary strategic contact regarding all environmental health and safety factors, providing guidance for a safe working environment for employees, vendors, and visitors. Conduct regular inspections, GEMBA walks, or assessments of the facility and EHS programs. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot environmental utilities including UPW, wastewater treatment systems, organics, inorganics, BRF, and APCS. Education and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or related fields. Masters degree is preferred but not required. 10+ years of experience with environmental systems design in various settings, including design, construction, equipment installation, operations, and maintenance of site facilities. Familiarity with EPA permitting, OSHA, ISO 14001, water, wastewater, UPW, air purification, certification processes, and risk mitigation. Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, regulations, safety protocols, and ensuring EHS adherence from design to maintenance of environmental systems SOPs. Demonstrates competence and comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines such as automation controls, water, gas, chemicals, or environmental systems. Provide EHS, safety, and transformational leadership to direct reports, departmental leaders, stakeholders, and personnel involved in the manufacturing site.
